With over 200,000 years of existence, man has changed the earth from the time he first took his breath and for all those times, he has dominated the earth and dictated how it shall go in the near future. If asked about what man has actually done to the world, people have opposing answers. Here are few of the most notable answers that they give when asked, “What is man’s greatest contribution to mother earth.”

To some, the world that we see now is a direct product of man’s so called greatest contribution- Science. Formulas and latest technological breakthroughs shaped the world that we see now. Man seems to find all the answers that he would dare ask. Of all the world’s creation, man is the only species to have divine creative ability and the only one to have problem solving capacity that is beyond reckoning. Science has been his greatest and most faithful friend; in the sense that it has delivered to him everything that he needs to further his perpetual dominance. And so man boasts that it is his greatest contribution to what the world is now.

To some, the concept of business and the craft of moneymaking is man’s greatest achievement. They say that this quote became famous, “Man’s greatest invention in the 20th century is compound interest.” And looking at how businesses across the globe have risen and fallen, I cannot begin to disagree. Man has built for himself an empire that is unparalleled in stature. There’s No denying that man has gone a very long way from where he used to be to have gotten this far, and once he again this is, perhaps, his greatest contribution to the world.

Earth’s Demise – At the back of the eternally prosperous picture of the world’s progress, there are some who think that the world is a dying ball of life because of its inhabitants. Man has become a threat more than an ally. What with the recent climate changes and the escalating threat of global warming. Man may have in fact, misused the “Blue Planet” and has put its future un harrowing danger. Either way, it all seems to be a tug of war. People are divided what to truly believe. But there is one thing for sure, we are in this Blue Planet, and it is in our hands to whether create this place a heaven or hell for the generations to come.
